Win a Custom Designed Poster

This is an example of the look of the poster up for grabs. The black border is entirely optional.

It’s Valentine’s Day and I am in a giving mood.  I am giving away two custom designed horse posters for two lucky people.

Your poster will be a photograph I have taken at the WGQHA Show this weekend.  The poster will be customized with your own text, such as the horse’s name, Stud name, competition results or a favourite saying.  It is totally up to you what you want added in text.  Or, if you prefer, you don’t have to have any text at all.

Your poster will be emailed to you as a full resolution digital file that you can have printed as big as you like, on paper, canvas, acrylic or whatever medium you choose.  I recommend using Nushots for your printing due to their exceptional quality.  I am happy to arrange for the printing to be done for you for the cost of the print plus a small negotiated fee.  I will grant permission to the winners to make unlimited prints of this digital poster.   You will also receive a low resolution version you may use on your own website or social networking page, such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.

What you have to do:

  1. Share the Facebook link on your own wall and say why you would love to win your own horse poster designed by me;
  2. Copy and paste your reasons back onto the Nicole Martin Photography Page in the comments for this post;
  3. Share this blog page by hitting the Facebook or Twitter buttons below;
  4. Come and say hello to me at the WGQHA Show this weekend and let me know you have completed step one; AND
  5. Make sure I photograph you and your horse(s) at the show.

It’s that easy.

Entries are open to any person competing in any event at the WGQHA Show on either the Saturday or Sunday, 18th or 19th February 2012.

The winning entries will be selected by two people completely independent of the WGQHA.  The two  most interesting, moving, funny or creative entries will be chosen.  Winners will be notified via Facebook on Friday 24th February.  I will then get in contact with you to select your favourite image from the Show.

You may enter on behalf of another if they do not have access to Facebook.  One entry per person unless you state you are entering on behalf of another.

So get going – share with your friends your desire to have your very own custom poster.  Good luck and can’t wait to see you at the show.

What Does a Picture Look Like on the Blog?

What does a picture look like on the blog?  It is a name for a blog post that is about experimentation.  It is part of fine-tuning the site so you, the reader, can enjoy it to the max!  Hope you do.

Back to Garfield

It’s been about two months since I was last at Garfield for the WGQHA (West Gippsland Quarter Horse Association) Show.  It feels like longer.  I have been practicing a bit of HD video on my camera about the house.  Just the kids and dog.  It will be a pleasure to do a bit of the cutting.  My plan is to shoot some video and slow it down in post production so you can see close up super slow motion of the horses working.  The hitch is I haven’t quite figured out the post production side yet.  It is amazing how much time it takes to get your head around video editing.  So many settings to play with!!  But it is a new form of expression for me and I am totally enjoy the steep learning curve.  If it all comes together I will post something here.
