One of my best mates. Cannot imagine life without this flea-bag. Diesel - you rock!

Hi and thank you for visiting my blog.  I had always wondered how people with blogs found anything to write about.  Why would I have a blog?  What could I possibly give that someone might find even remotely interesting?  But I tell you what – I have something to give.  Me.  It might not be much.  I don’t lead an exciting, Rock ‘n’ Roll lifestyle.  I don’t rub shoulders with celebrities, I don’t play any extreme sports, and I don’t really have any words of wisdom that could change someone’s life.  But I do photograph people and animals.  I have been lucky enough to photograph a wedding and have more in the pipeline.  I have met a huge number of  wonderful people and I want to share them with you.  How good is it to read about positive, beautiful events and people in this day and age?  How often do you read positive, happy stuff?

My aim for this blog is to give you a bit more of me and what I’m into.  It will always be positive and upbeat and most of all, filled with love.  Love from the couples I photograph and the love I have for what I do.  I will regularly update it with pictures from weddings, portrait sessions and horse shows I have been lucky enough to be a part of.  I will also give you the odd post from a personal level about things such as my family, my loves and interests.  I love writing, so if it all gets a bit verbose, just look at the pictures.

After being a public servant for nearly 20 years it is such a joy to be earning a modest living doing something I love.  I started my photography business in early 2008, mainly photographing horse shows and doing dog portraits.  Late 2011 I discovered that I really loved the fun and results I got from photographing people.  I started the “Soulmate Sessions” that has led to weddings, and I couldn’t be happier.  The satisfaction I get from bringing out the beauty in a shy and reserved girl or guy amazes me and I wonder why I ever balked at this genre of photography.  It was probably a confidence thing, as the more time I invest in practicing my craft and increasing my knowledge the more confident I have become in my abilities.  You see, I am a fairly shy person and hesitate to push myself into certain situations in case I look like I don’t know what I’m doing.  But what do you gain by that?  You don’t grow and you don’t get to meet the so many wonderful people in this world.  I am truly thankful for all that I have and all that I have been able to achieve since I started on this venture.  I can only imagine what lies ahead for me and my family.

I am looking forward to bringing you more of different parts of my life.  I hope you can join me and let me know if I have connected with you on some level.
